Cross-Stitch colouring book

My fire truck is all ready to colour! I’m pretty pleased with how it is turning out. I know there is going to lots of back stitch and a loads of fractional stitches, but that is how I like it. Now to colour inside the lines.

This is the finished Aircraft Carrier using every shade of grey DMC has I’m sure! I hope Nate H enjoys it. This beauty just leapt onto the fabric. I find it funny that with a pattern like this – chocked full of 1/4 and 3/4 stitches and everything backstitched – I rarely make a mistake. Yet give me a simpler pattern and my mind wanders letting my fingers *x* along as they please. Seems like the easier the pattern the more I frog! And just a glimpse of what poor Holly has to put up with on a daily basis . . .

a rottie's love
I have just mailed a square off for Love Quilts. This exquisitely designed rottie is for Kyle B. who chose realistic dogs (Yay, he likes Rottweilers!) His quilt will be put together by volunteers at the beginning of October. I know, I know I’m cutting the delivery of my square close again. Every time I sign up for a square I say never again, and then leave it to the last minute. But after this many years of living with me, I’m finally accepting that some things just aren’t going to change. You can see the scans of squares already completed for him here. The pattern, Rottweiler DR 501 ©2004 is by Canadian designer Brenda Franklin of Brenda Franklin Designs. This was a wonderful pattern to stitch; the chart is very clear and the symbols well chosen. There are no fractional stitches or back-stitching, yet the Rottie jumps to life under your fingers.
With heart felt thanks to my “imaginary friend” Pam at Classic Hobbies! (another not so LNS! )
