- I have a little dachshund who wants out, wants in, wants out, wants in, wants out. wants in . . . repeating all day . . .
- The lane is free of snow. There is one patch of ground in front of the house free of snow. Of course, this muddy strip is the only area around the house not covered with grass; the grassy areas being well protected by snow.
- There are robins every where, mostly in that said small patch of mud.
- When the delightful squishy mud is not covered by robins, it is the delectable play ground of 2 rotties and one long-haired miniature dachsie
- The floors are covered with rottie and dachsie muddy foot prints (we will learn by the time things dry up to wipe all six pairs of feet upon entry).
- We wake in the morning with a bed filled with sand and sawdust . . . and a warm smarmy, long haired miniature Dachshund so happy to be with us.
- It snows nearly every day
So enjoy your green grass, your daffodils and tulips and think of us, way up here sitting in the middle of the muskeg.

KUSTOM KRAFTS #99523 BUTTERFLY DAISIES

© 2007 Dyan Allaire Kustom Krafts
Dyan Allaire organized a SAL for her yahoo group offering a sneak preview of new designs. Deciding which design to stitch was most difficult! It added a whole new level of stress to my life . . . I mean . . . what if I picked the *wrong* one. Dithered right up to the last moment, I did! Finally, I went with “Butterfly Daisies”.
Considering how depression has darkened my life, and my struggle to look to the light, it is a perfect choice. I started down in the dark lower left. As I stitch I will be heading towards the golden beam. Hopefully this will be a meditation piece for me: a chance to focus on the beauty in my life instead of all that is black and colourless.
my little bit of progress as of April 2007

So far this year I’ve finished 3 squares for Love Quilts. When I throw in the current Round Robin with the Stitching Diva’s, I think I’ll cease to wonder why I’m making such slow progress on my Kustom Krafts SAL project. (or why I’m dreaming of crossing tiny x’s in the trees, across the sky, on the side of houses, on wolves’ backs . . . )
“To Those Who Believe . . .” This was stitched for Lynzee C.

“Butterfly Kisses” stitched for Amanda P.

This is adapted by LBBDesigns from an old copy from a magazine (stored some where in TDBR**). I was planning on stitching the boy fairy for my boy’s room . . . suffice to say it was ages ago!
“Purple Finch” for Alexis A.

I so loved stitching this little bird. The colours blended so beautifully. I love how the white back-stitching set off the little one’s eye. This is one designer I will be on the look out for; her work is wonderfully realistic, yet simple to stitch.
“Michealmas Daisies & Garden Critters” for Hannah G.

I have included this 2006 finish here; my photo album is experiencing technical difficulties that so far have eluded correction.
You can see all the beautiful squares at the new Love Quilts Photo Gallery with Fokti
