Exchange Ornaments

December 17th, 2005, posted in Crochet

Here is a picture of the ornaments I received in the Parent’s Place Crochet/Knitting Board ornament exchange.

Little Stocking is from twoboyztwogirlz
Snowflake cl-paigemama74
Bell from crazycalicokitty
Angel is from deuceypop

Thank you so much all of you!

I finally used Steve’s camera to get a picture because my little digital so annoys me; *I could just pinch it,* to paraphrase Marvin Martin. Everything I photograph with it is so pink. And I just don’t do pink when I am trying to get brown or gold tones!

Everyone has received the ornament I made so I can post a picture. If anyone needs proof that I am less than sane here it is. (all those pointy needles and thread, mutter, mutter) I must admit I really enjoyed making them . . . I must have . . . I made 25 of them!

This beautiful Snowflake Star is is an original design by Judy Gibson, October 28, 2002. It also appeared in the 2005 Knitting pattern a day calendar.

All the ornaments I’ve made or received from friends makes decorating the tree a happy time – and we always wonder how long that ancient string of outdoor mini-lights is going to last. It must be 20 odd years by now they have been brightening our trees.

Wonderful Photo-Op!

The other day (which shall remain nameless, cuz I’ve lost exactly 1/2 of December) my Sweetie missed the opportunity for the candid shot of his life. Poor guy, work really interfers with such moments.

I haven’t mentioned that we have only the hardiest crust of white stuff left in dark corners. I never thought I would hear the neighbour kids wishing and hoping for snow for Christmas ever in my entire life! Sort of reminds me of listening to people gripe about having season passes to a ski hill that has no snow just dreaded I** as I grew up in Chinook prone Dawson Creek!

So all that to set the picture of a lane and yard full of I**. Pretty frost adorns the trees; the sky a brilliant winter blue & the ground covered with I**. Tank is out down the lane. Not this one.

dachshund, Little Bit

Remember? This one:

Rottie, Tank

He spies me walking across the parking area and comes flying as only a a terrifically bred Rottie from Coultrain Rottwilers can. Visions of ending up smeared across the garage door are flashing around my brain. (Remember that is big, not tiny racing towards me) Tank puts on the brakes three feet in front of me to come to the perfect 3 point sit . . . sits and slides right into me.

Now picture this . . . me with my hands (I think, happened rather quickly!) on his head, Tank (that is the extra large one not the teeny bit) at his perfect sit in front of me and the pair of us sliding backwards not loosing any momentum. All thanks that I haven’t kept up the toenail trimming (TANK’S not MINE) ! He stood, managed to dig in and bring us to a stop in a controlled skid. There we stood; I really was still standing! Little Bit thought it was a great game and wanted us to do it again. Tank and I retreated to the house.

No dogs were harmed in bringing you this story.

(Sorry about the repeat of pictures. I was going out to get firewood yesterday and really fell on the ice this time. Just me by myself; I remember, as I was going down, listening to my brain sending instructions to my body to mimimize the damage . . . relax.. . flatten out, limp you noodle! NECK – keep the head from hitting! YOUCH!!! I laid there taking reports from various locations. Little Bit thought it was a great game and wanted us to do it all again. Thankfully nothing was broken or even bent out of shape. Little Bit thought it was a great game and I limped back inside to the safety of the computer.)
